Energy Efficiency:
The energy efficiency of products are rated between 'A' and
'C' usually. 'A' rated products are the most economical and
environmentally friendly products to operate.
When you’re trying to decide which model is best for you, here
are a few features you may also wish to consider:

Fan Forced Cooking:
The fan forced cooking function utilises a fan situated at the
rear of the oven and a circular heating element to evenly
distribute the heat throughout the oven. Conventional
cooking temperatures are reduced by up to 20% and
therefore a shorter cooking time is usually required and the
full capacity of the oven can be used.
Grill (Top Heating Element):
The grill function uses the grill or top heating element. This
provides an instant heat that is suitable for browning food.
Fan Assisted Grill:
The fan assisted grill function uses traditional radiant heat
above the food, while circulating hot air around the food.
This cooks the food on all sides and keeps it moist.
Defrost Setting:
The defrost function operates the fan which circulates cool
air around the oven without the oven heating up. This is
suitable for defrosting frozen food.
Conventional Cooking (Without Fan):
The conventional cooking function uses the top and bottom
heating elements to heat the oven, without the fan operating.
This function is ideal for cooking food that requires a lower
constant temperature to be maintained. The oven will
usually be hotter towards the top shelf positions.
Fan Assisted Conventional Cooking:
The fan assisted conventional cooking function uses the top
and bottom heating elements to heat the oven, with the fan
operating. This results in faster and more even cooking
than the conventional cooking method. This function is
suited to most types of food but in particular food that
requires either top or bottom heat concentration.
LED Minute Minder:
Ovens with an LED digital minute minder have a digital
display / clock as well as a minute minder. By setting the
timer to the desired time and allowing the clock to count
down, the buzzer will sound to let you know that the
cooking time has elapsed.
LED Programmable Timer:
Ovens with an LED programmable timer have a digital display
/ clock as well as a fully programmable timer, incorporating a
minute minder function (as above) and in addition a semi
automatic cooking function that allows you to programme the
oven to switch on or off at a specified time. The fully
automatic cooking function allows you to program the oven
to switch both on and off at specified times.
LCD Programmable Timer:
Ovens with an LCD programmable timer provide you with
the same functionality as the LED timer (see above) with
the added capability of a colour changing backlight display.
Oven Light:
The oven light illuminates when the oven is turned to the
'on' position.
Push Button Ignition:
Push the control knob and then press the ignition button,
the ignition button will give off a spark to ignite the burner.
Automatic Ignition:
Push down and turn the control knob and the gas burner or
electric plate will automatically ignite.
Rapid Burner:
Rapid or high speed burners provide more heat to a larger
area and therefore allow you to cook more efficiently with
different size pans.
Rapid Zone:
Rapid or high speed zones provide more electricity to the
hotplate and therefore heat up quicker and provide a faster
cooking time.
Flame Failure Device:
A flame failure device is part of the gas burner
system which detects if the flame is extinguished and
then cuts off the gas supply to that burner.
This is an additional safety feature.
CORGI has issued new regulations to its members,
effective from the 1st January 2008, stating that all
gas cooking appliances (ovens and hobs) for use in
flats and multiple person dwellings must contain a
flame failure device.
